Who we are
Enlighten Studios is an owner-operated design and development studio in Waukesha, Wisconsin. We plan, design, host, and improve websites for local businesses that need to look credible online and show up when someone nearby searches for what they sell.
The work is led by designer Mike Cobus. That means you talk to the person building the site, not an account manager reading notes from a team you will never meet. Combined, the studio brings more than two decades of hands-on WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Square, PayPal, and on-site SEO experience.

How we work
Most of our clients already tried a cheap theme, a DIY builder, or an agency that disappeared after launch. We start with what you sell and who has to find you, then we design pages that say that clearly. Hosting and SEO are part of the same job, because a site that looks right but ranks nowhere, or goes down on a Saturday, is not finished work.
We stay on WordPress and WooCommerce when a business site or store needs to be editable. We use Shopify, Square, or PayPal when that is already how you take money. The stack follows the business, not a favorite plugin list.
Who we build for
Retail, service, and eCommerce owners in Waukesha County, Milwaukee, and the surrounding towns. Recent and long-running work includes The Green Design Center (eCommerce and consulting), Cream City Sauce, Cannabloom Farmacy, PACE-PAK, Porch Pros, and Milwaukee Area Carpet Cleaning.
If you need a national brand campaign or a 40-person sprint team, we are the wrong shop. If you need a site that can be launched, hosted, and still make sense a year later, that is the work.
Tools we actually use
WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Square, PayPal, Yoast, Google Analytics, Let’s Encrypt SSL, Plesk, and WPMU Dev tooling when a site needs it. Custom PC and laptop builds are still available for studios and shops that want hardware specced to match the work, not a retail box.

Is Enlighten Studios a local company?
Yes. We are based in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and most projects are for businesses in Waukesha, Milwaukee, and southeast Wisconsin. Website, store, and hosting work can also be done remotely.
Who will I work with?
You work with the studio directly. Design, build, hosting, and SEO are not split across a chain of freelancers you never meet.
Do you only design new sites?
No. We redesign, repair, and take over WordPress and store sites that are already live, and we can move hosting so backups and SSL are not someone else’s problem.
